So you want to be a firefighter?

We take seriously the emergency needs of our community. If you believe you can make the same commitment, then maybe you have what it takes to be a Fate Firefighter! We ask all our members to commit to our motto, “Our Community, Our Citizens, Our Department”. This is a statement of ownership. We own the commitment to our community.

We are looking for some good people. We are looking for volunteers in various capacities. We are looking for volunteers in operations, i.e for emergency scene response. However, we are also looking for volunteers for our support division as well. These are people who assist the department in IT, office support, rehabilitation, and events support.

Applications are accepted throughout the year. For the operations division (firefighting), recruitment is divided into two tracks. Track A is for volunteers with no firefighting experience. Track B volunteers are certified firefighters with experience. All new members will attend an orientation class prior to training or assignment. All new members must complete a medical physical and physical ability test. All new members who do not currently posses at minimum a SFFMA Basic certification are required to do so within (1) year.
